Our clients, the chairman and the management of an SME in the healthcare sector, were faced with the challenge of achieving significant growth. The company had been taken over by a private equity firm and they had jointly committed themselves to profitable, sustainable growth.

Mandat Intervention

In a series of strategic workshops, we developed a medium-term strategy in conjunction with the company management board and its chairman. This strategy was continuously updated to reflect the latest findings.

We assisted in the reorganization of the core processes, specifically in the efficient reorganization of logistics processes, and provided proposals for significant cost reductions in the outbound area.

With the help of Mandat, the merchandise purchasing department was professionalized and the groundwork was laid for improved earnings of several hundred thousand euros.

A new pricing concept was adopted in close consultation with the executive management.

As the corporation grew to become one of the most prominent enterprises in Europe in its industry through acquisitions and the establishment of new companies, we honed strategic approaches in cooperation with the country managers, particularly in Hungary and the Czech Republic. This also involved a precise coordination of processes between the countries and the German headquarters.

We established an overall project management system which ensured that limited resources could be focused where they would have the greatest impact.

With a special project, we ensured the professional positioning of an acquired company, which represented a complementary part of the value chain. Here, the focus was directed in particular at the professionalization of sales.

Results

The company has developed from a “local hero” to one of the most prominent European players in its industry.

The management can draw on a functioning country organization. Each country manager is also responsible for specific issues within the organization as a whole.

Purchasing conditions were significantly improved, the price level increased disproportionately, and the corporate group continues to grow profitably.
